Project 365: Day 365

Saturday afternoon and we spent the gorgeous Colorado day skiing at Keystone!
Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend the day!
and..... CAN YOU BELIEVE IT IS MY 365th DAY!!??? That is just absolutely CRAZY! Although there were lots of days over the last year where taking a picture was an after thought or even a nusciance, I think this project was a huge success.

After our trip abroad, I had a really hard time finding anything in my life here in the US that was actually worth writing about or recording. This project has certainly helped me to see my life here through a new lense. It really did push me to find at least one small detail in each and every day that was interesting or noteworthy. When I look back at my blog now, it feels like the year flew by, but on a daily basis, it forced me to recognize the uniqueness of every single day.

I'm not sure if I will really still be taking pictures EVERY SINGLE DAY, but I do plan to continue to write and post.  And with only ONE WEEK until my wedding, I hope that I wil have lots to post and share over the next month or so! :-)

Happy New Year!

Project 365: Day 364

Lunch with my girlfriend Randi... Did you know that it was National Margarita Day!? Neither did we, but we were happy to participate in the celebrations!

Weather Update!

OMG This is it, we are in the 10-day weather forecast for the wedding!!!! I am trying not to get too excited because 10-day forecasts are not very accurate and anything could still happen, BUT as of now, we've got the makings of a perfect day:
39F and sunny with a 10% chance of precipitation!? AMAZING! I hope this is what we end up with!!! I'm so excited I can barely sit still anymore!!!

Project 365: Day 363

Got some advice from a friend of mine (thanks Kebi) to wear big socks with my wedding shoes to break them in before the wedding. Soooo I'm sitting at my desk TRYING DESPERATELY to focus on work and rocking out some amazing footwear!
I know I shouldn't be sharing this picture before the wedding (am i ruining a surprise!?), but honestly (1) no one reads my blog anyway and (2) I hope that the shoes look nothing like this on the wedding day! It's not quite the same with my PJ pants and socks! haha.

Project 365: Day 362

What is this shiz all about!?
One minute i was wearing my fall jacket and the next thing i knew there was an inch of snow on the ground!? booo for snow BUT really the city/state does need the precipitation, so I can't complain. Hopefully they're getting a bunch in the mountains - best case scenario it dumps this week and then clears up on Thursday! Hoping for good driving conditions for all of our guests and a blue bird day for the wedding... keep your fingers crossed for us!

Project 365: Day 361

Can you even believe that there are only FOUR DAYS LEFT to my 365 day project!? It is almost as hard to believe as the fact that there is only
1 week
4 days
21 hours
20 mintes
until the wedding! As such, what would be a more appropriate picture of the day than another little wedding sneak peak:

Project 365: Day 358

It was Cheato's 30th Birthday, so we all went to Jump Street for some good ole' trampoleen time! I snapped this amazing self portrait mid-jump. Pretty creepy, huh!? I have to say, there is nothing like an hour on a trampoleen to make you feel old! (damn that's hard work!) but we had a blast!

The birthday boy and his GF!
Another self portrait! (of jessie, not me!)

They had a foam pit too that you could jump into... at your own risk of course.

 LOVE trampoleens!!!!

Project 365: Day 357

Karaoke at Armida's! Does this guy look familiar? He serenaded me a couple months back and did not disapoint the second time around!
Songs by our group included F*ck You by Ceelo (me) Shout by the Isley Brothers (Jenny) I Believe I can Fly by R Kelly (Elliot) and Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio (duet by me and Bethany)
Good times were had by all!

Project 365: Day 356

Happy Valentines Day!
whhhaaaattt!!!???

Nothing too crazy for this holiday, we are in full-on wedding mode and with our birthdays recently passed as well, we weren't up for too much craziness. We did, however, have a delicious meal of Omaha Steaks for our Valentines Day Dinner! (Thanks to Joe and Ginger for Nick's B-day present!)

Project 365: Day 355

My third dress fitting was today!!!! And I'm SUPER excited because after 11 pairs of shoes, I finally picked one and they look AMAZING!!! AND even more exciting (after worrying for months that the dress wouldn't zip!) is that I needed to have it taken in! Huge thanks to Kebi and Katie for coming with me to help out, and to Lucy for doing an amazing job on alterations.

So, without further ado, here's' me in my dress:

HA! You didn't think I would actually show it to you, did you!? My fiance reads this blog!!!! Don't worry, soon enough!!!!

Project 365: Day 354

OMG I AM SO EXCITED I'M JUMPING OUT OF MY SKIN!!! LOOK WHAT NICK AND I GOT!!!!!!!
Nick had the day off due to a water main break, so as soon as I landed in Denver, we headed down the road to the Wellington Webb building to get our Marriage License. It was the EASIEST thing I've ever done w/ the city government! 15 minutes and $30 later, we were walking out of the building ready to get married. Holy Moly, 17 days until the WEDDING!!!!!!

Project 365: Day 353

Just another day at work - a site visit in Nebraska to check out where a new instrument will go.... it's going to take the place of this guy which quenched (i.e. died) last year.

Project 365: Day 352

A lazy sunday, but it wouldn't be complete without a little wedding DIY-ing! I won't show you the finished product but let's just say, our cake topper is done and it is amazing!!! SOOO EXCITED!

Project 365: Day 351

Headed up to the mountains for only my SECOND day on my season pass!!! This is not good for two reasons (1) because I need at least 5 days to make my pass worth it and (2) I need more time to practice skiing for the wedding!!!!
It was cold and overcast and snowing, but the conditions were the best I've had in a long time. Good day on the slopes!

Project 365: Day 349

Ahhhh the trials and tribulations of wedding planning. I have already purchased 7 pairs of shoes and three shawls for my wedding dress.... and I am returning all of it (ok well I'm keeping one pair of shoes, but not for the wedding dress! Just cuz they're so pretty!) Next week I have another fitting and I should have 5 more pairs of shoes delivered in time for round two!

Project 365: Day 348

BUSY day - my second dress fitting, still playing catch-up at work, and tons of wedding loose ends to tie up.  In the middle of all the craziness, I got a nice little surpries from Nick - Happy Wednesday flowers! What a good fiance I have!

Project 365: Day 345

Today Nick and I went up to Sol Vista (our wedding venue) for our tasting.
We got lots done including finalizing our menu, deciding on a floor plan, picking out linens, and tightening up our day-of timeline... lots of fun stuff! But after we finished ironing out all the details (and eating all the food!) we got to go up to the top of the mountain to check out our ceremony site one more time. This is the first time we've been up there in the winter, and I can tell you it did not disapoint. It's even more gorgeous in the winter than it is in the summer, and I am getting SO excited for the big day.  Exactly ONE MONTH from today (but only 28 days, thank you February!), Nick and I will stand on this exact spot and vow to love eachother for the rest of our lives.... CRAZY!!

Project 365: Day 344

After a nice relaxing morning at home, Nick and I enjoyed the absolutely GORGEOUS Denver afternoon and walked down to the DBC (Denver Beer Company) to enjoy a beer on their patio.
DBC is a dog-friendly brewery AND it turns out Puppy Season came early this year!  Bulldog puppies are the cutest puppies EVER and Mimsy was so adorable I wanted to put her in my purse and run away with her!

Project 365: Day 343

Finally on my way home! January was an exhausting month and I'm soooo happy to be headed home! Unfortunately, it takes 20 hours to get from Zurich to Denver.... so it was a long day! Lucky for me, I got to eat TWO airline meals... YUMMY!
By the time I went to bed Friday night, it was 6am in the timezone I woke up in, and I had been awake for almost 22 hours!
