Project 365: Day 5

Ok well... today's picture not too exciting. I forgot to snap one while I was out an about this afternoon, and then the battery on my camera was about to die. So we're left with a shot of my hotel bed. Which is pretty representative of where I spend a lot of my time on the road....

Sorry if the captions are too small to make out....

Project 365: Day 4

Today I am in St. Louis, Missouri for the first of three days here on business. My one and only stop this afternoon was the St. Louis University Chemistry Department to check out their 400MHz spectrometer. It was a gorgeous February day - warm enough to walk through campus with my jacket on my arm. As I walked along, I looked up and noticed the sun peaking through the late afternoon clouds and illuminating a group of flags that were perched atop one of the campus buildings. It was the perfect opportunity to snap my picture of the day :

And then I carried on my way. 15 minutes later, I'm sitting at a desk with my customer when I look down at my left arm and blurt out - in the middle of my meeting - "o my god! did a bird poop on me!?"  Customer is sitting there a bit stunned as I carry on, "well it could only be bird poop or toothpaste, and there's no way I got toothpaste on that part of my arm.... I can't believe it! A bird pooped on me on my way over!" And after a little chuckle, we just carried on with our meeting... just me and him and some bird poop!

The poop stayed on my arm for another hour or so before I got to my hotel - snapped my real picture of the day - and promptly cleaned it off with a Shout! wipe from my bag.
The nerve of that bird!!!

Project 365: Day 3

Home office... this pretty much sums up today, and every day that I'm not on the road for work.
Nothing exciting to report, but tomorrow morning I'm on my way to Missouri...

Project 365

Well speaking of 365, it's been almost that long since I've written. I have to say life has a way of slipping through your fingers, doesn't it? But now I'm back and I have a new project that I really hope will bring the blog back to life (although I'm not sure it can compare with 15 months abroad...)

If you see me at all on Facebook, you know that I have a SERIOUS obsession with the website Pinterest. It's getting a bit out of control, but in the last month or so I've tried about 15 new recipes and done some pretty neat art projects that i found on it. The first of which was a magnetic make-up board that Aimee and I made from pizza pans, some spray adhesive, a hot glue gun, and some magnets!
From there I went to a couple of art projects:
This was a nice Friday night project for Aimee and I - hers turned out awesome... I'm not crazy about mine, but every project can't be a home run!

For those that are unfamiliar, this is the shape of Taiwan with a heart around the city where we lived.

And this weekend, I made some glass magnets, some new coasters, and I gave myself a sock bun!

So yeah.... things are getting a bit crazy in this house, and I'm not 100% sure how excited Nick is about all of my crafting, BUT nonetheless, I'm having a blast with it, so it's all good.

So my new project is called "Project 365." As I mentioned, I found it on Pinterest, but it was a link from this blog. So the goal of the project is to take one picture every day for 365 days and post them on my blog. I'm going to try to actually post them daily - instead of a group of 7 every week - so we'll see how it goes. The only unfortunate thing about this whole project is that in the last 24 hours, I seem to have misplaced my camera, so I'll have to work on that.

So, here we go! Day 1 (February 25)
I think this pretty much sums up the ridiculousness of our pinning activities - Aimee was working on wrapping some old beer bottles up in yarn to make decorative bottles for her window sill. She learned the hard way that when someone offers to wind your yarn for you, you take them up on it!

Day 2 (February 26)
Now this might be cheating a little bit, but in light of currently missing my camera, this picture actually came from last night - but I took it after midnight, so we're going to count it for today! hehe.

It was taken at a party I went to where everyone brought two of the same bottle of wine. One was set aside and the other was brown bagged and labeled. We all tasted each wine (22 of them!) and then voted on our favorite. The hostess kept the top two wines and the person who brought the winning wine got to keep the rest! Good times were had by all. :-)

So there we are 2 days down, 363 to go! See you all tomorrow!
